UKAS Monitors Competence & Quality
Certification bodies commit to an on-going accreditation regime that tests the competence of their auditors and the overall quality of their service.
UKAS Ensures Impartiality
UKAS ensures Certification Bodies and Consultants work impartially together, with rules to ensure that certification auditors cannot assess their own work.
Therefore, you can be assured that UKAS Accredited Certification bodies are assessing your management system without bias or incentive; and thus awarding the certificate based on objective evidence.
UKAS is Recognised by the UK Government
UKAS is appointed as the national accreditation body by Accreditation Regulations 2009 (SI No 3155/2009) and the EU Regulation (EC) 765/2008 and operates under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government through the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

UKAS Certificates Have Value
Certificates can be (fairly) easily transferred between accredited bodies, as the certificate has a value. All certification bodies work to the same standard.
